The British Hovercraft Company manufacture small hovercraft used for commercial, utility, recreation and search & rescue. These hovercraft are often used by private owners to cruise local intertidal rivers and coastal areas and as these craft can access otherwise totally inaccessible areas such as mudflats and low lying/low tide areas - they are perfect for collecting litter and discarded fishing nets, tackle etc. We have collected items previously and have a colony of seals local to us in Kent on the River Stour, which are at risk from river waste & fishing equipment. We are happy to collaborate with other volunteers for this event and thank both ONE - Ocean Network Express for their support in providing volunteers and also Medway Council for recycling the waste collected.
