“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” – Nelson Mandela
As we step into 2026, I want to share both my gratitude to our global network and our collective vision for the year ahead — a year we are calling the Year of Inspiration and Cooperation.
Let’s Do It World is a movement of 139 million people across 211 countries: a living network of human beings who have chosen to see ourselves as interconnected parts of a whole. What makes our story truly powerful is that we are not only organising events. We are living proof that multicultural, cross-border cooperation for common aims is possible.
Our Annual Network Survey confirms what many of us feel in our hearts. Motivation to work on World Cleanup Day remains incredibly high, and people consistently rank being part of Let’s Do It World at the highest levels. Why? Because the impact we create goes far beyond the waste we collect. It lives in our very being — in how we exist and act together across all borders.
In a world where division too often dominates the headlines, Let’s Do It World offers a different narrative: that staying positive, working collaboratively for our common wellbeing, and believing in borderless cooperation is not only possible — it is essential for our collective learning and human flourishing.
We don’t compete for a cleaner Earth. We collaborate for it. And in doing so, we are showing the world a different way forward.
What we have learned over the years is powerful: this kind of cooperation works. We have brought together nations, cultures and communities, united by shared purpose and capable of achieving massive results. And if it is possible here, it is possible elsewhere too.
This is why 2026 is about escalation and cascading. We are taking the proven model of our network and of World Cleanup Day and expanding it through stronger partnerships with institutions and organisations. We are not just growing; we are showing how this collaborative model can be replicated, adapted and amplified across different contexts and challenges.
This year, we are more committed than ever to building cooperation with partners and institutions to multiply our impact. We are moving beyond awareness-raising towards solution-finding. We are strengthening our focus on healthy communities and meaningful engagement — particularly with young people — creating spaces where youth are not only learning about environmental challenges, but actively co-creating solutions.
This year will bring our global network together across regions, institutions and leadership spaces, creating opportunities to showcase impact, strengthen collaboration and build the capacity needed to take our work further.
EU engagement and Leaders Academy – Brussels, Belgium
In March, Let’s Do It World will take part in the EU Climate Pact Annual Conference in Brussels, offering a powerful platform to showcase how civic movements create tangible environmental change. Let’s Do It World will also lead a conference event as part of the programme.
Following this, the World Cleanup Day Impact Photo Exhibition will be hosted at the European Parliament, with a formal opening featuring voices from Parliament itself. We hope to gather many of our European regional leaders for this moment, and are working towards hosting the Europe Leaders Academy alongside it — bringing together the visual power of our impact with the strategic strength of our leadership.
Annual Conference and partnership development – Kuching, Malaysia
Our Let’s Do It World Annual Conference, an important gathering for the network, is currently being planned to bring global leaders together in Kuching, Malaysia. The conference is expected to be co-led and organised by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak and UiTM Headquarters in collaboration with Let’s Do It World.
This gathering will showcase the Impact Photo Exhibition while providing space to strengthen our network, share learning, and strategically shape how we escalate and cascade our model into new partnerships and formats.
Building Capacity in Asia – Leaders Academy, Maldives
Continuing our commitment to regional leadership development, we aim to host the Asian Leaders Academy in the Maldives this year — to build capacity, share strategies, and strengthen the bonds that make cross-border collaboration not only possible, but powerful.
World Cleanup Day 2026 will take place on 20 September. Millions of people will once again unite in action across the globe.
We are currently looking for the next host country for our World Cleanup Day Call and Media Centre — the Broadcast hub that will share stories of transformation from every corner of the planet. If your country would like to be at the heart of this global collective action, we warmly invite you to reach out.
As our work continues beyond physical waste, Digital Cleanup Day takes place 21 March, extending our mission into the digital realm to tackle the invisible environmental impact of our data footprint. Together, we are proving that environmental action knows no boundaries — neither physical nor digital.
In 2026, we commit more strongly than ever to facilitating collaboration that crosses every divide. We commit to showing that our proven model of bringing nations and cultures together can cascade into other formats, other partnerships and other movements. We commit to not only raising awareness, but to finding and implementing solutions through healthy communities and engaged youth.
We also commit to working with an even stronger focus on partners and institutions — because we have proven this kind of cooperation is possible. Now it is time to show the world that it is scalable, adaptable and essential.
Thank you to everyone who shows up week after week. Thank you to those who lead with good hearts. And thank you to all who believe that, together, we can create the world we want to see.
