UN MEMBERS STATES SUPPORTED WORLD CLEANUP DAY TO BE ADDED TO UN CALENDAR
Whole 193 Member States of the UN Habitat General Assembly of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme in Nairobi, adopted the resolution positively and recommends that the UN General Assembly proclaim the date of 20 September as World Cleanup Day, to be observed annually from 2024 onwards. It is also inviting all Member States, UN organizations and other stakeholders to observe the World Cleanup Day.

Digital Cleanup Day 2023: record amount of “dead” data deleted to save CO2
The fourth Digital Cleanup Day held March 19 2023 organized by Let’sDo It World (“LDIW”) brought nearly 400 000 participants from 108 countries whom together deleted nearly 4M GB of data. By deleting the data, 1.7M kg of CO2 is saved yearly. Of the 108 countries participated, most data was deleted by participants from France, Indonesia, United States, Estonia and United Kingdom.
