Young volunteers take part in a World Cleanup Day action

Saturday 20 September is fast approaching—World Cleanup Day returns, led globally by Let’s Do It World. With it comes the opportunity for organisations and communities around the globe to spearhead environmental change through our ‘Strive for Five’ campaign. This year, we’re asking you to help mobilise 5% of the world’s population in collective action for a healthier, cleaner planet.

Over the past seven years, World Cleanup Day has united over 114 million volunteers across 211 countries. Since being recognised on the UN’s calendar in 2024, our campaign has only gained strength and reach.

How to make a difference

  • Mobilise your community or workplace to take action on 20 September.
  • Support financially—whether modest to substantial, every donation helps fuel the movement.
  • Offer in-kind support, including tools, logistics, media, or other services that can amplify our impact.

Beyond organising and supporting, we invite you to tune in to the official World Cleanup Day live broadcast, streamed on our Facebook and YouTube channels. It’s a powerful way to witness global action in real time and celebrate the collective effort in motion.

Why this matters

When forward-thinking people join forces for the planet, change becomes possible. Your involvement helps create a wave of transformation—one that extends far beyond a single day. By participating, you help transform cleanup efforts into enduring momentum for behavioural and systemic change.

An ethos of collaboration lies at the heart of LDIW, fostering shared responsibility and a deep connection to the Earth and to one another. World Cleanup Day is not just about removing waste—it’s about societal transformation through community engagement, environmental awareness, and behavioural change. World Cleanup Day 2025 is your chance to be part of that.
