Let’s Do It World, and EARTHDAY.ORG networks will join hands to unite 190 countries around the world on World Cleanup Day 2022, on September 17th with the ultimate goal of activating 5% of the population.

The two networks join forces to set an example. “We have reached a point in human history where the only way forward is to unite; the environmental problems that we face can only be solved through coordinated action together,” noted Heidi Solba, President and Head of global network of Let’s Do It World. “The current state of environmental pollution is a crisis. Pollution destroys the habitats of the wildlife and it has begun to affect our health and wellbeing in unpredictable ways. On a weekly basis, humans consume about 5 grams of microplastic, about the weight of a credit card. This plastic may end up in our microbiome, thus disrupting normal processes in the cell,” added Solba.

EARTHDAY.ORG President Ms. Kathleen Rogers explained; “National CleanUp Day is a pivotal partner of EARTHDAY.ORG in our effort to draw attention to the global waste crisis, particularly plastics. In addition to protecting the environment, we are activating our cleanup volunteers to support the newly introduced global plastics treaty. Our goal is to build the world’s largest effort to eliminate plastics and other waste from our environment once and for all.”

EARTHDAY.ORG and Let’s Do It World have goals that are closely aligned in activating the global environmental movement under the message - together we will do it. Both organizations have an expansive network of partners and support worldwide, and joining together will create stronger connections in the environmental movement. As the leaders of the two largest global environmental networks, Heidi Solba, President of Let’s Do It World, and Kathleen Rogers, President of Earth Day Network, have come forth to set an example to the rest of the world.

“We are creating a global movement for a waste-free world that will change the course of human history. Starting with doing cleanups all around the world, we hope you will join us on World Cleanup Day by bringing your friends, family, and colleagues together to clean and protect your local cities, streets and parks,” noted Solba.

Let’s Do It World NGO is a non-governmental organization that coordinates and supports the global movement, inspiring and empowering leaders to raise awareness and move countries towards sustainable solutions.
