The coming weeks mark an important period for the Let’s Do It World (LDIW) community, with meaningful milestones ahead across governance, international advocacy, and regional collaboration.
The first of these will be the LDIW Board Elections, taking place this Friday, 29 May. This is a pivotal step in shaping the leadership and direction of our global movement – a reminder that strong civic action always begins with strong, values-driven governance. The people elected this Friday will help steer LDIW into its next chapter, carrying the trust and hopes of a network that spans the entire world.
In June, members of the LDIW global network and Board will participate in the Zero Waste Forum 2026 in Istanbul, Türkiye. Hosted by the Zero Waste Foundation, the forum will take place from 5–7 June and is expected to bring together representatives from more than 150 countries, including government ministers, mayors, environmental experts, and civil society leaders.
As one of the leading international sustainability gatherings ahead of COP31, which will take place in Antalya in November 2026, the Zero Waste Forum will provide an important platform for dialogue on climate action and circular economy solutions. Discussions throughout the event will focus on advancing zero-waste policies and strengthening international cooperation on sustainability.
Heidi Solba, LDIW President and Head of Global Network, will represent the organisation in the forum’s panel discussions, contributing the perspective of a global civic movement to conversations on environmental policy, community engagement, and practical action.
Rounding off a packed and inspiring month, LDIW Asia Leaders Academy will take place in the Maldives from 19–22 June. The gathering will bring together civic leaders and changemakers from across Asia to exchange knowledge, strengthen regional cooperation, and further develop the impact of the movement across the region.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Let's Do It Maldives and Yameen Adam and Agustina Iskandar and all Asia team for their dedication in making this gathering possible. Their commitment to the movement makes events like this not just possible, but truly special.
The next edition of Network News will bring you the full story of the Board Elections, along with highlights and reflections from both the Zero Waste Forum in Istanbul and the Asia Leaders Academy in the Maldives.
Stay tuned for updates!
